I had a GREAT experience at The Spartanburg Animal Shelter.It was a very clean and positive enviroment.The animals there are worked with on a daily basis.It was a pleasure to walk through the building and look at all the animals.The assistant that helped me was so very patient and caring.She took time to find out about me and helped me to get the dog that is PERFECT for my life style.I will continue to adopt from them in the future.

I was disguisted by the lack of care and compassion this facility had. I have been to many shelters and felt horribly disappointed by this one. They have the resources and ability to be an amazing shelter but they lack the heart to do what they need to do for the animals. I would recommend adopting from here to get these animals out because that is their only chance to get out.

Spartanburg Humane Society sets the standard by which I judge all other Humane Societies! Their new facility is really state of the art! Beautiful grounds, the sweetest memorial gardens, and they offer very reasonable veterinary services. You can't beat their low cost spay/neuter clinic! As a rescue volunteer, I do alot of this at my own expense and they've saved me hundreds of dollars! It's very clean and they have a very friendly (both people and pet-friendly) staff and I highly recommend them!
